FEME PRODUCTS

PRODUCT INFORMATION
FeMe is a button-like device designed to provide natural relief for menstrual pain. It is a non-invasive solution that helps women manage dysmenorrhea without the need for medication therefore removing the risk of harsh side-effects.

‘Painful menstrual cramps’ is referred to as dysmenorrhea defined as primary and secondary dysmenorrhea.
Our product addresses both primary and secondary dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea is the medical term for moderate to severe pain caused by menstrual periods. It affects more than 50% of all women worldwide (about 1,5 billion). Studies found that it is more prevalent in women from urban areas than in women from rural areas.

FeMe is easy to use, discreet, and can be worn throughout the day without interfering with daily activities. It is non-invasive and a natural/holistic solution to women choosing to manage dysmenorrhea without the need for external medicaments and its resulting side-effects (e.g. short and/or long term chemical exposure and probable consequences). No risk of any harsh side-effects or the possibility of damage to the body’s intricate cellular structures. Here’s how FeMe works, its uses, and the type of dysmenorrhea it assists with:

INFORMATION

It is of importance that young women across the globe get educated on menstrual health and to understand their discomfort and pain. Empathy stretches far beyond sympathy and the time has come to redefine relief for millions of suffering and at times judged and misunderstood females across the globe.

The medical profession does not hold the monopoly on any research outcomes on menstrual pain or discomfort. There is much proof from international studies that the alternative route has quite positive results. Even in Japan, where this subject to this day is taboo, large groups of female volunteers made themselves available to researchers working on this topic. Valuable outcomes were received from these studies and made available to the public.
Thorough studies have been done worldwide on this methodology. We have in our own study received brilliant results.
It is rare that menstruating females get hospitalized due to severe dysmenorrhea. It easily gets brushed off as being normal and of the kind that will eventually phase out. Symptoms are treated only to return in the next cycle. We achieved positive outcomes with a specific patient being hospitalized twice because of unbearable pain who found immediate relief, continuing through the months thereafter.

NUMERICAL PAIN SCALE (NPS)

Apart from the normal verbal reporting of pain, a scale of measurement can be useful.
A numerical pain scale is a method of self-reporting of pain to medical personnel.
It is in general a predictor but also a screening tool to assist medical staff to determine the severity, type and duration of pain.
Pain is indicated on a scale from 0-10. This helps with diagnosis and/or a treatment plan. The effectiveness of treatment can also be compared according to an initial recording from 0-10.
The pain scale has been described as the “most valid measure” of pain and its level of severity and/or to categorize it as either ACUTE, EPISODIC or CHRONIC.
0 = No Pain
1 - 3 = Mild Pain (nagging, annoying, interfering a little with daily tasks)
4 - 6 = Moderate Pain (interferes significantly with daily tasks)
7 - 10 = Severe Pain (disabling, unable to perform daily tasks)
Menstrual pain has been reported as rating 4 - 7 and 8 - 10. Mentioned level of pain is compared to the severity of pain during a heart attack.

CONSEQUENCES OF MENSTRUAL PAIN

Menstrual pain can limit a woman’s quality of life. It leads to poor academic performance and work efficiency. From a study in the UK it was recorded that more girls were absent from school due to menstrual pain than from colds and flu and the percentage is slightly below the number of females absent due to mental health issues. In a study in Spain it was recorded that 72% of females reported menstrual pain with 45,9% requiring medication and 34,3% who would have required not attending work or school activities, requesting sick leave. Many females implied consequences in their professional environment should they request sick leave. This study was done as a starting point to know the prevalence of menstrual discomforts among Spanish women of reproductive age and their effect on the professional environment as an assessment of the possible impact of the menstrual leave legislation recently implemented in Spain.
Some authors have indicated that the typical age of onset of dysmenorrhea is 25 years or younger. One Japanese study has shown that the severity of primary dysmenorrhea does not significantly decrease after 25 years of age. And, from onset of menstruation, it can take up to 6 months for ovulation to stabilize. During the next 2 years menstrual cramps start escalating but does not necessarily increase on the pain scale after age 25-30 (and if it does it needs further medical tests/treatment).
MENSTRUAL PAIN (DYSMENORRHEA)

Primary dysmenorrhea
(Lower abdominal pain in the absence of pelvic disease.) Most painful in the first 24-36 hours and can last for 2-3 days.
Secondary dysmenorrhea
(based on the added existence of organic disease). Treatment might include added medical advice/treatments etc.

Types of Dysmenorrhea FeMe Helps With?

FeMe is effective in treating both primary and secondary dysmenorrhea:

-
Primary Dysmenorrhea (Pain level 3-10): This is the most common type of menstrual pain, typically caused by the natural contractions of the uterus during menstruation. FeMe’s therapeutic pulses help reduce these contractions and alleviate the associated pain.
-
Secondary Dysmenorrhea (Pain level 6-10): This type of menstrual pain is usually linked to underlying reproductive health issues such as endometriosis or fibroids. While FeMe can provide relief from the pain, it is essential to consult with a healthcare provider to address the root cause of secondary dysmenorrhea. You can get in touch via WhatsApp using the button below, to arrange a consultation with our partnered professionals.

FeMe's primary function is pain relief. By using FeMe, women can manage menstrual pain naturally and effectively, ensuring comfort and ease during their periods. FeMe complies to all regulatory compliance considerations.
